Marinara Sauce

Makes 10 servings (½ cup per serving)

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • ½ cup onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. oregano
  • ½ Tbsp. basil
  • ½ Tbsp. parsley
  • 1 (28 fl. oz.) can of whole tomatoes
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. sugar

 

Preparation

  1. Heat oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add onions and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add garlic, oregano, basil and parsley and continue cooking for 2 minutes.
  4. Add tomatoes, salt, pepper and sugar. Stir and simmer until sauce has thickened, about 20 minutes.
  5. Using a hand blender or food processor, blend the sauce until smooth.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
